Guys! We survived! And not only did we survive but we made so many wonderful memories. We had our ups and downs (jet lag with kids=not fun) but overall our trip was awesome and we’re already planning our next one (Iceland??). The kids did great on the plane. The only major issue we had kid-wise was when Little Lady had a MAJOR meltdown on the train home from Colmar. Like straight up screaming. For an hour. And we were stuck on a train. I needed someone to save me. But we made it through that, we made it through some hiccups figuring out public transportation, we made it through a lot. And through this whole trip, we lived, we learned and we loved. Ok no more cliches. But seriously, this trip brought our family so close together. Doing something new together was a bonding experience for us. I’ve never appreciated my husband more. He was so helpful with everything this trip. This wasn’t a trip for him. This wasn’t a trip for Little Lady. This was a trip for me (and Little Big Guy got pretty excited about it too). And despite the fact that he originally thought he would get nothing out of the trip, he put those thoughts aside and was the rock he always is. He’s the best, I don’t know how I got so lucky! There is something about doing new things, having new adventures that just really brings us together. It’s been a long time since we did something new as a family, and I just loved watching us come together. I loved being able to see the kids bond with their dad…I don’t get to see a lot of that since I’m at work when he’s with them. But anyway, I will be writing a ton about this trip, the things I’ve learned, the things we did. I just wanted to let everyone know we made it home safe and sound.
